Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - OR to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in operating room setting with focus on trauma, ortho, general, vascular, neuro, plastics, and ENT procedures • Maintain current BLS certification throughout assignment • Utilize Epic charting system for all documentation and patient records • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required • Participate in on-call rotation distributed equally among nursing staff every 6 weeks (6-8 shifts per rotation period including nights, evenings, and weekends) • Work variable start times of 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM as scheduled • Cover night shifts as needed during contract period • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Provide patient care for all age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics • Handle daily census of approximately 25 cases • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (average 16 hours, non-billable time) • Self-report time spent on training modules with completion recorded in Workramp transcripts • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting • Maintain valid state licensure throughout assignment • Comply with facility policies and procedures for patient care delivery • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties • Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams • Follow Universal Protocol procedures and maintain expertise in fire safety, laser safety, and infection control • Handle trauma cases including gunshot/stab wounds and multiple injury scenarios • Operate specialized equipment and assist with robotic surgical procedures as needed
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
