Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform surgical technologist duties for outpatient and community hospital cases including orthopedic, neurosurgical, and vascular procedures • Assist with trauma cases as required • Maintain current BLS certification throughout assignment • Work variable shift start times including 7am, 9am, and 11am • Complete 12-hour shifts as scheduled • Provide on-call coverage one weeknight per week and every 2nd or 3rd weekend from 0700-0700 with 20-minute response time • Work 3 weekend shifts per schedule as required • Assist with robotic surgical procedures using da Vinci Xi system • Operate and maintain specialized equipment including microscopes, laparoscopic towers, and arthroscopic equipment • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Maintain valid state licensure and certifications • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting • Perform case cart and crash cart duties as required • Maintain aseptic technique and follow universal precautions • Assist with general surgery, gynecologic, urologic, and other specialty procedures • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
