Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - NICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for neonates in Level III NICU setting
• Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications
• Manage patient ratios of up to 3 patients during day shifts
• Perform antibiotics/antivirals administration and monitoring
• Conduct APGAR scoring and attend high-risk deliveries
• Manage arterial lines and perform central line blood draws
• Provide breastfeeding support and handle breast milk safely
• Perform developmental care for neonates 29-34 weeks and above
• Administer feedings including bottle, breast, and gavage methods
• Implement isolation precautions as required
• Manage chest tubes and oxygen delivery systems
• Provide patient and family education
• Perform phlebotomy and phototherapy procedures
• Start and maintain IVs and manage thermoregulation
• Handle UVC (Umbilical Vein Catheter) procedures
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting
• Complete required compliance documentation and certifications
• Perform duties using facility-provided communication devices when required
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures for neonatal care delivery
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
