Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech CVOR to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide surgical technician services in cardiovascular and trauma surgical procedures
• Maintain current BLS and NBSTSA certifications
• Demonstrate competency in fire safety, aseptic technique, laser safety, and sharp safety
• Handle and label specimens according to established protocols
• Perform sterilization and disinfection procedures
• Participate in universal protocol and time-out procedures
• Support multi-specialty inpatient, outpatient, and emergent surgical procedures
• Assist with vascular, general, neurosurgery, orthopedic, urology, EENT, OB/GYN, plastics, OMF, trauma, dental, pediatric, neonatal, and endoscopy procedures
• Participate in organ harvesting procedures
• Float between main OR and vascular OR as needed
• Maintain 1:1 patient ratios during surgical procedures
• Work 10-hour day shifts from 0630-1630
• Respond to call requirements 2 days per week and every third weekend
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Utilize Epic documentation system, Pyxis, and SBAR communication methods
• Complete 40 hours of unit orientation
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Provide care for adult through geriatric patient populations
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures for surgical services
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
