Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Surgical Tech - Certified Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide certified surgical technician services with minimum 2 years of experience
• Maintain current BLS and NBSTA certifications
• Demonstrate proficiency in ophthalmology with 3-4 rating and strong skills in vascular/neuro and robotics
• Provide surgical support for all ages across multiple specialties including trauma, scrub, aseptic technique, ENT, general, ortho, ortho/spine, urology, endo/laparoscopic, vascular, thoracic, neuro, gyn, and neuro/spine
• Work 3x12-hour day shifts with weekend shifts as needed
• Accept potential call assignments of 1-2 twelve-hour call shifts per two weeks as needed
• Float between units and affiliate hospitals as required
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters
• Support daily case load of 80 cases across 22 operating rooms
• Assist with multi-specialty inpatient, outpatient, and emergent surgical procedures including general, vascular, neurosurgery, orthopedic, urology, EENT, OB/GYN, plastics, OMF, trauma, dental, pediatric, neonatal, endoscopy, and organ harvesting
• Operate and assist with special equipment including DaVinci robotic systems
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Complete required non-billable training modules pre-start and annually (8-10 hours for acute care roles)
• Complete required compliance documentation and lab testing within 48 hours after signing
• Maintain valid state licensure (NC or Compact license required)
• Adhere to facility fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Comply with facility dress code and use facility-provided scrubs
• Participate in unit orientation as determined by experience level
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
