Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU Neuro to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in a comprehensive stroke center specializing in neuro intensive care • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 2:1 (may flex to 3:1 during high census periods) • Care for patients with strokes, craniotomies, aneurysms, seizures, and other neurological conditions • Manage ventilated patients and provide neuro intensive care services • Administer IV medications, blood products, and continuous IV sedation • Perform IV starts and manage central line care • Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and provide appropriate management • Manage external ventricular drains (EVD), lumbar drains, and ICP monitoring devices • Provide post-neurosurgery patient management and CVA/acute stroke care • Operate specialized equipment including Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun devices • Maintain isolation precautions and proper use of personal protective equipment • Document patient care using Epic charting system and follow SBAR communication protocols • Float to other units within the hospital or affiliate facilities as needed • Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation over 2 shifts • Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start • Maintain current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable online modules pre-start and annually • Adhere to facility dress code requirements (navy blue and white scrubs) • Comply with all facility policies and fatigue management guidelines
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
