Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide radiation therapy treatments to adult and geriatric patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, prostate, lung, and head and neck cancers • Operate radiation therapy equipment including Elekta Infinity and Elekta Synergy systems • Perform simulation of treatment sites and utilize B-Mode Acquisition targeting • Conduct CBCT/kV/mV imaging procedures • Implement specialized treatments including SRS (Stereotactic Radiosurgery), SBRT, and IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy) • Utilize compensation filters, custom molds, custom shields, portal cast, and wedges as needed • Provide external beam therapy and respiratory gating procedures • Manage patients with prostate cancer seeds/fiducials and perform prophylactic treatments • Document patient care and treatments using Epic charting system • Utilize Mosaiq system for treatment planning and documentation • Perform chart checks and billing for treatment types and devices • Maintain radiation safety protocols and procedures • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment procedures • Implement isolation precautions and proper PPE usage • Care for patients in restraints when necessary • Handle emergency cases as they arise • Perform field shaping and utilize lift/transfer devices • Maintain current BLS and ARRT T certifications • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required • Work with interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, lift teams, and rapid response teams • Handle approximately 35 patient visits per day • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty • Maintain valid state licensure and comply with all facility policies
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
