Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Torrance, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for Labor & Delivery patients including low and high-risk labor patients, antepartum with multiples, hypertensive disorders, diabetic conditions, and multiple system issues • Maintain required certifications including ACLS, AWHONN Advanced (or C-EFM in lieu of Advanced AWHONN), BCLS, and NRP • Float to Mother/Baby unit as required and potentially to sister facilities • Circulate and scrub for cesarean sections and recover post-operative patients • Perform postpartum D&C procedures • Maintain patient ratios following AWHONN standards (1:1 for active labor, no more than 2 for early labor) • Complete required training modules pre-start and annually (average 16 hours, non-billable time) • Use Epic charting system for patient documentation • Provide newborn care and perform non-stress tests • Set up delivery tables and assist with deliveries • Work flexible schedule including weekends and commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Maintain current California nursing license • Complete 24-hour orientation program • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care • Follow AWHONN standards and facility policies for patient care delivery • Provide precepting services when requested (preferred skill)
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
