Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Torrance, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for labor and delivery patients including low and high-risk labor patients with various conditions • Care for antepartum patients with multiples, hypertensive disorders, diabetic conditions, and multiple system issues • Maintain current ACLS, AWHONN Advanced (or C-EFM), BLS, and NRP certifications • Float to mother/baby unit and postpartum units as required • Circulate and recover cesarean sections and assist with postpartum procedures • Maintain 1:1 patient ratio for active labor patients and no more than 2:1 for early labor patients • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation and patient records • Perform newborn care and participate in baby-friendly initiatives • Conduct non-stress tests and set up delivery tables as needed • Work flexible schedule including weekends and commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays • Complete 24 hours of orientation and required pre-start training modules • Provide precepting services to new staff when assigned • Float between sister facilities within the state as required • Maintain valid California RN license and provide 2 supervisory references • Complete required compliance documentation and annual training modules • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Follow AWHONN standards and facility policies for patient care delivery
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
