Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide radiation therapy services to adult and geriatric patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, prostate, lung, and head and neck cancers
• Operate radiation therapy equipment including Elekta Infinity and Elekta Synergy systems
• Perform SRS (Stereotactic Radiosurgery), SBRT, and IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy) treatments
• Conduct simulation of treatment sites and B-Mode acquisition targeting
• Utilize CBCT/kV/mV imaging for treatment verification
• Apply compensation filters, custom molds, custom shields, portal casts, and wedges as required
• Supervise implementation of treatment plans and protocols
• Perform respiratory gating and work with prostate cancer patients with seeds/fiducials
• Document patient care and treatments using Epic charting system
• Maintain current BLS and ARRT T certifications
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide patient and family education regarding radiation therapy procedures
• Implement isolation precautions and PPE protocols when necessary
• Ensure radiation safety protocols are followed at all times
• Perform chart checks and billing documentation for treatment types and devices
• Utilize Mosaiq system and C-RAD equipment
• Care for patients requiring restraints during treatments
• Handle emergency cases and field shaping as needed
• Use lift and transfer devices appropriately for patient safety
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty
• Maintain valid state licensure and complete required compliance documentation
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Complete 8-hour facility orientation program
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
