Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Surgical Tech - Certified Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide certified orthopedic technician services requiring NBCOT (OTC) certification
• Perform casting, splinting, and bracing procedures for orthopedic patients
• Create and apply various cast types including cylinder, gauntlet, long arm, long leg, and specialized casts
• Apply and fit orthopedic splints including gutter splints, posterior splints, and sugar tong splints
• Remove, replace, trim, univalve, wedge, and window casts as needed
• Fit and educate patients on orthopedic braces including knee braces, shoulder immobilizers, and wrist braces
• Assist with debridements and pin insertion procedures
• Perform sterile dressing techniques and suture removal
• Provide patient education and gait training
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed
• Maintain current NBCOT (OTC) certification
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required
• Provide care for adolescent and adult patient populations
• Work in outpatient orthopedic specialty setting
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
