Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Sleep Tech - Polysomnographer to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Eureka, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct sleep studies for a backlog of over 300 patients needing polysomnographic evaluation
• Score and result approximately 100 pending sleep studies
• Provide education and mentoring to staff regarding proper sleep study scoring techniques
• Perform polysomnographic studies on adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation and study results
• Conduct Adult Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests (MWT) and Adult Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT)
• Monitor and analyze cardiac abnormalities, ECG, EEG, and End-Tidal CO2 during studies
• Assess O2 saturation, Periodic Limb Movement (PLM), and respiratory patterns
• Score PSG studies including sleep stages, respiratory events, and transient arousals
• Operate and maintain sleep study equipment including Alice systems, CPAP, BiPAP, and ASV devices
• Apply and monitor various mask interfaces including full face, nasal mask, and nasal pillow options
• Provide oxygen therapy and home study training to patients as needed
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Maintain current BLS certification and other required certifications
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of comparable specialty experience
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
