Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - CVOR to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Portland, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing services as an RN in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) • Perform both scrub and circulator duties in cardiovascular surgical procedures • Maintain 1:1 patient ratios during procedures • Respond to cardiac emergencies when on-call • Work weekend coverage including Saturday 0600-Monday 0600 once per month • Float between multiple facilities based on unit needs and skill sets • Utilize Epic charting system for all documentation • Maintain current BLS certification • Complete required training modules during orientation and annually • Perform cardiovascular procedures including CABG, valve replacements, LVAD/RVAD, and transplant surgeries • Operate specialized equipment including electrosurgical units, fiber optic systems, and Steris equipment • Administer blood and blood products as needed • Handle specimen collection and proper labeling procedures • Follow Universal Protocol and Time Out procedures • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and transportation • Provide care for adult patient population • Maintain valid state nursing licensure • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years • Complete required compliance documentation and background checks • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Adhere to facility dress code and scrub color requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
