Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Napa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for Labor and Delivery patients with 1:2 patient ratios
• Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and newborn assessments
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and pain management
• Monitor fetal heart rates using external and internal fetal monitoring
• Conduct sterile vaginal examinations
• Provide breastfeeding support and lactation assistance
• Perform triage of obstetrical patients
• Float to postpartum units as needed
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals when required
• Work weekend shifts and be available for on-call duties based on census
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide discharge teaching to new parents
• Administer blood and blood products when needed
• Manage IV therapy and infusion pumps
• Perform wound assessment and care
• Maintain valid state nursing licensure
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
