Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Cardiac Tele to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for cardiac telemetry patients with diagnoses including chest pain, arrhythmias, pacemaker, or defibrillator • Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac rhythm disturbances • Administer and manage cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dopamine, dobutamine, milrinone, amiodarone, Lasix and heparin • Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as ordered • Maintain patient ratios of 1:5-6 patients • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Operate telemetry monitoring equipment and respond to cardiac alarms • Collaborate with heart failure navigator for appropriate patients • Float to other cardiac telemetry units as needed based on census and patient care requirements • Administer blood products and manage central line care • Provide peripheral line care and management • Implement isolation precautions when required • Manage non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula oxygen delivery • Participate in rapid response and code team activities • Maintain current ACLS and BLS certifications • Pass EKG testing prior to start date • Complete 36 hours of unit orientation • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Complete 4 weekend days in a 6-week time period • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (8-10 hours) • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Maintain teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations in all patient and staff interactions • Utilize unit systems including Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR communication • Provide minimum 2 years of nursing experience with telemetry background • Maintain valid nursing license (NC or Compact state) • Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
