Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Orthopedics to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical patients
• Manage patient ratios of 5-6:1, with flexibility up to 7:1 in extreme cases
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Maintain expertise in pain management for orthopedic and spine patients
• Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Float to other med-surg units within the facility based on census and staffing needs
• Work every other weekend as required
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (no holiday RTO approved)
• Maintain current BLS and NIH certifications
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (8-10 hours, non-billable)
• Provide customer service oriented care
• Manage multiple pain medications for high post-surgical and orthopedic patient population
• Adhere to fatigue policy (maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week)
• Complete lab testing and compliance requirements within 48 hours of assignment
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Maintain valid state nursing license (NC or Compact)
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
• Complete 36 hours of orientation training
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
