Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Eureka, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide surgical technologist services in various specialties including General, Plastics, Ortho, Neuro spine, Vascular, OB/GYN, Urology, and ENT procedures • Maintain current BLS certification and valid state licensure • Perform surgical procedures for patient age groups including Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, and Geriatrics • Operate and maintain specialized equipment including DaVinci robot, Stryker, and Medtronic systems • Work with daily average surgical case volume of 30 cases • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (average 16 hours) • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Participate in on-call rotation approximately 1 weekend per month and 1-2 nights per week • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed including SPD and ENDO units • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting • Maintain aseptic technique and follow universal protocol procedures • Perform instrument processing, sterilization, and decontamination procedures • Assemble and wrap surgical instrument sets and trays • Operate various surgical equipment including electrosurgical units, endoscopes, and fiber optic systems • Assist with laparoscopic procedures and robotic surgeries • Follow radiation safety and laser safety protocols • Complete required compliance documentation and certifications • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
