Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Eureka, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide surgical technologist services in various specialties including General, Plastics, Ortho, Neuro spine, Vascular, OB/GYN, Urology, and ENT procedures
• Maintain current BLS certification and valid CA license
• Obtain and maintain CST or NCCT certification
• Work with patient populations including Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
• Participate in call rotation approximately 1 weekend per month and 1-2 shifts per week
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Operate and maintain surgical equipment including Da Vinci robot, Stryker, and Medtronic systems
• Perform sterile processing duties in SPD and ENDO as needed
• Assist with approximately 30 surgical cases per day on average
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting
• Maintain aseptic technique and follow universal protocol procedures
• Handle surgical instruments, equipment assembly, and sterilization processes
• Work flexible scheduling including 8-hour shifts starting at 6:30, 8:30, or 11:00, or 12-hour shifts starting at 6:30
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
