Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Eureka, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide surgical technology services in operating room settings including General, Plastics, Ortho, Neuro spine, Vascular, OB/GYN, Urology, and ENT procedures
• Maintain current BLS certification and valid state licensure
• Operate and maintain surgical equipment including DaVinci robot, Stryker, and Medtronic systems
• Perform instrument processing, decontamination, and sterilization procedures
• Assist with laparoscopic procedures and robotic surgical cases
• Maintain aseptic technique and follow universal protocol procedures
• Provide care for patients across age groups including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Participate in on-call rotation approximately 1 weekend per month and 1-2 shifts per week
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required
• Work weekend shifts as scheduled and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Prepare and assemble surgical instrument sets and trays
• Handle various surgical procedures including trauma cases, orthopedic surgeries, and minimally invasive procedures
• Maintain knowledge of laser safety, radiation safety, and sharps safety protocols
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering required employment history
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Comply with facility dress code and professional standards
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
