Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Napa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide intensive care nursing services in ICU setting with 1:2 patient ratios
• Care for patients with diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory failure, COVID, ESRD, trauma, and SDH
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including EVD, CRRT-Prismaflex, IABP, and Impella devices
• Assist with chest tube insertion and removal procedures
• Provide care for ventilated patients and manage post-craniotomy patients
• Implement CVA/acute stroke management and spinal cord injury protocols
• Monitor ICP and administer hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun treatments
• Provide post-neurosurgery management and traumatic brain injury care
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Work every other weekend and be available for on-call duties
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Maintain infection prevention protocols and proper isolation precautions/PPE usage
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Maintain valid state nursing license and required certifications
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
