Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Napa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide intensive care nursing services with 1:2 patient ratios
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIH stroke scale certifications
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Provide care for patients with diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory failure, COVID, ESRD, trauma, and SDH
• Manage ventilated patients and perform cardiovascular, medical, neuro, and surgical intensive care
• Assist with specialized procedures including chest tube insertion/removal, EVD, CRRT, CABG, IABP, and Impella
• Monitor ICP, manage post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery patients
• Implement CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocols
• Provide care for spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury patients
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Maintain valid state licensure and provide minimum 2 supervisory references
• Adhere to infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Complete 12-hour orientation program
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
