Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in Labor and Delivery unit for high-risk obstetric patients and culturally diverse population • Circulate during cesarean sections and assist with surgical procedures • Care for neonates, infants, and adult patients with patient ratios of 1-3 • Perform labor and delivery nursing including antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care • Administer medications including Magnesium Sulfate therapy, Pitocin, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives • Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using external and internal fetal monitoring • Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and high-risk deliveries • Provide breastfeeding support and lactation assistance to new mothers • Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and infant identification procedures • Manage epidural anesthesia and pain assessment for laboring patients • Start and maintain IVs, insert and manage Foley catheters • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment in comparable specialty • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services • Perform discharge teaching to parents including car seat education and circumcision care • Manage multiple births and neonatal abstinence syndrome cases • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
