Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide registered nursing care for medical surgical telemetry patients with a patient ratio of 1:6-7
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Maintain current BLS certification and obtain ACLS and NIH certifications as preferred
• Demonstrate proficiency with IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Utilize EPIC charting system for patient documentation and must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Float to similar units as needed based on census and staffing requirements
• Work every other weekend as required
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation
• Adhere to self-scheduling system requirements
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Provide care for adult patients with medical surgical diagnoses
• Perform blood product administration and central line care/management
• Interpret dysrhythmias and manage patients requiring nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• Implement isolation precautions as needed
• Utilize rapid response and code teams when appropriate
• Manage peripheral line care and maintenance
• Comply with fatigue policy - cannot work more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Wear navy and/or white scrubs as per dress code requirements
• Maintain teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations in all patient and staff interactions
• Adhere to strict call-off policy enforcement
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
