Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Stepdown to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Petoskey, MI. Key Responsibilities:
• Use clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions
• Provide nursing care for cardiology patients including those undergoing PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip and bi-ventricular pacemaker procedures
• Care for open heart surgery patients in post-operative recovery (18-24 hours post-op)
• Specialize in care of patients with congestive heart failure
• Provide care for patients undergoing electrophysiology studies
• Participate in national clinical trials managed by research department
• Float to similar units as required
• Demonstrate EKG interpretation skills and comfort level
• Maintain ACLS and BLS certifications
• Work every other weekend as scheduled
• Maintain Michigan state nursing license
• Adhere to strict attendance policy with no more than 3 absences or late arrivals exceeding 20 minutes
• Complete skills checklist within one year of application
• Provide license verification through LARA and Nursys
• Maintain current proficiency in cardiac nursing with minimum 1+ year experience
• Participate in possible on-call duties as assigned
• Work night shift hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in MI
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
