Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - LTC to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Rotating at a leading LTC in Kodiak, AK. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care services in long-term care setting for adult and geriatric patients with conditions including dementia, hypertension, stroke, mobility disorders, Alzheimer's disease, COPD, and other chronic conditions
• Maintain current BLS certification throughout assignment
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation and record keeping
• Work variable 3x12 hour shifts (either straight days or straight nights based on facility needs)
• Maintain 1:21 patient ratios during shifts
• Work weekends as required and be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Float between units within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, social services, lift teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries
• Perform oxygen administration and peripheral line care
• Implement proper isolation and PPE protocols
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (average 16 hours, self-reported)
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
• Maintain valid state nursing licensure with preference for Alaska RN license
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures for patient care delivery
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
