Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Rotating at a leading Hospital in Kodiak, AK. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in Labor & Delivery/LDRP unit with 1:1 patient ratios
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
• Work 4x12 variable shifts (either straight days or straight nights based on facility needs)
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby as needed
• Provide care for neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults
• Perform LDRP skills including assistance with deliveries, cesarean sections, and postpartum care
• Conduct newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and infant identification procedures
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Provide breastfeeding support and lactation assistance to new mothers
• Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and utilize external/internal fetal monitoring
• Perform triage of obstetrical patients and pain assessment/management
• Provide discharge teaching to parents and circumcision care education
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty
• Maintain valid state RN licensure
• Complete compliance documentation and certifications as required
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
