Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide labor and delivery nursing care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum care
• Maintain 2:1 patient ratios with average 20 births in 24 hours and 30-40 admits
• Handle double labor assignments on a daily basis
• Perform sterile vaginal examinations and provide competent immediate newborn care
• Circulate for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births
• Provide care in obstetrical triage unit for patient screening and outpatient procedures
• Perform antenatal fetal surveillance, intravenous hydration, and medication administration
• Assist with rescue cervical cerclage procedures
• Manage high-acuity patients in fast-paced environment with over 300 births per month
• Utilize Epic charting system, PYXIS, and SBAR communication methods
• Float as needed to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit
• Work 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
• Work every other weekend with minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation
• Maintain current BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (8-10 hours non-billable)
• Provide triage services for obstetrical patients
• Perform OCT (Oxytocin Challenge Tests)
• Manage pain assessment and pain management protocols
• Interpret telemetry monitoring
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Respond to infant/neonatal arrest situations
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
