Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Thomasville, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for medical and post-surgical patients with remote telemetry monitoring
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
• Manage patient ratios of 1:6-7 during 12-hour night shifts
• Start IVs and manage peripheral line care
• Administer non-titratable cardiac drips and blood products
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Operate Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Maintain current BLS certification and obtain ACLS and NIH certifications as preferred
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Attend 12-hour unit orientation and hospital orientation week
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Float to other units with similar skill levels based on census needs
• Provide wound care and wound vac management
• Manage PCA pumps and follow heparin protocols
• Maintain isolation precautions and infection control standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, respiratory services, and pharmacy
• Provide non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula oxygen therapy
• Adhere to facility fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Maintain valid NC or Compact state nursing license
• Provide two supervisory references from within the past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
