Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Oncology to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Des Moines, IA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for medical surgical oncology patients
• Work every other weekend rotation as scheduled
• Participate in every other holiday rotation coverage
• Complete makeup shifts for weekend call-ins and RTO coverage as needed
• Maintain current nursing license and required certifications
• Complete fit testing and health screening requirements
• Adhere to organizational code of conduct and policies
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and proprietary information
• Complete specialty-specific competency testing and skills assessments
• Participate in required training programs and continuing education
• Complete and maintain current immunizations including MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19, and annual influenza vaccines
• Undergo tuberculosis screening via PPD or IGRA testing
• Pass color vision testing requirements
• Complete background checks and exclusion list screenings
• Participate in Joint Commission compliance training and testing
• Complete child and adult dependent abuse training
• Work 12-hour shifts from 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM
• Provide patient care during designated shift hours with flexibility for unit needs
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in IA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
