Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for Med Surg Tele patients with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Care for stroke patients, neurosurgery patients, and other neurological diagnoses including epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas
• Maintain current BLS certification and obtain ACLS certification (preferred)
• Demonstrate IV start capabilities and telemetry monitoring skills
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias effectively
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Float to other Med Surg/Tele areas and COVID care units as required
• Work every other weekend as scheduled
• Work 12-hour day shifts (06:45 - 19:15)
• Complete 36 hours of unit orientation
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Make up any called-off shifts within the same week or at contract end
• Provide care in 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit when trained
• Manage patients with neuroscience diagnoses including brain tumors, seizures, SAH, and ICH
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• Maintain professional standards and follow facility policies and procedures
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
