Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide radiation therapy treatments to adult and geriatric patients using specialized equipment including Elekta Infinity and Varian 21 ex/ix systems • Operate CT Simulator (Toshiba) for treatment planning and patient positioning • Perform stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) procedures • Manage daily caseload of approximately 20 patients per machine across 2 treatment rooms • Utilize CBCT/kV/mV imaging for patient verification and treatment delivery • Execute respiratory gating techniques for motion management during treatments • Perform beam data acquisition and treatment parameter verification • Treat various conditions including brain tumors, lymphomas, pancreatic cancer, and other oncologic diagnoses • Operate and maintain specialized radiation therapy equipment including Tomo Therapy systems • Document patient treatments and maintain accurate records using Epic charting system • Participate in weekend call coverage rotation from 8am-4pm as scheduled • Complete required training modules and continuing education programs pre-start and annually • Maintain current BLS certification and ARRT (T) registration • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) as required • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals when needed • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules and maintain completion records
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
