Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate SLP - SLP to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Napa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide Speech Language Pathology services for inpatient and outpatient populations • Conduct bedside swallow evaluations and assessments • Perform voice, fluency, and oral motor evaluations • Interpret and conduct Modified Barium Swallow Studies • Provide treatment for dysphagia, dysarthria, and communication disorders • Work with patients diagnosed with stroke, TBI, trauma, cardiac conditions, spinal injuries, neurological disorders, and amputations • Implement compensatory strategies and patient/family education • Modify diet orders and utilize thickening agents as appropriate • Work with tracheostomy and ventilator-dependent patients • Manage Passy Muir Valves and perform suctioning when necessary • Complete assessments, reassessments, and discharge planning • Develop and implement plans of care • Provide concurrent therapy treatment and documentation • Utilize Epic charting system for all documentation • Float between acute care floors within the hospital and to affiliate facilities as needed • Work one weekend day per week • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Maintain current BLS certification and valid CA state license • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and other departments • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting • Adhere to facility policies and procedures • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
