Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate SLP - SLP to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Napa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide speech-language pathology services for adult and geriatric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations for communication and swallowing disorders
• Perform bedside swallow evaluations and interpret modified barium swallow studies
• Provide treatment for patients with stroke, TBI, trauma, cardiac, spinal injuries, neurological disorders, and amputations
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care for patients
• Document patient care and progress using Epic charting system
• Conduct reassessments and modify treatment plans as needed
• Educate patients and families on treatment strategies and home care
• Implement compensatory strategies and oral motor therapy
• Manage patients with tracheostomy, ventilator dependence, and Passy Muir valves
• Modify diet orders and implement thickening agents as appropriate
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including PT, respiratory services, social services, and other departments
• Float between units within the hospital and to affiliated facilities as required
• Work one weekend day per week and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Maintain current BLS certification and valid state licensure
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment in comparable specialty
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
