Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ER to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Thomasville, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide emergency department nursing care for patients from pediatrics through geriatrics
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4-6 based on unit needs and census
• Perform IV starts, triage, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Manage arterial lines and central line care
• Administer continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias
• Manage dysrhythmias and care for ventilated patients
• Implement isolation precautions as required
• Work with behavioral health patients in dedicated 4-bed area
• Float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals based on census and skill sets
• Work minimum every other Sunday and additional weekend shifts based on department needs
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, and MOAB certifications
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Participate in self-scheduling with unit leadership balancing
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, radiology, and pharmacy
• Provide care in certified stroke and chest pain center environment
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
