Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PCU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Eureka, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with 1:4 patient ratios during 12-hour night shifts • Maintain current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH stroke scale certifications • Administer blood products and manage cardiac drips without titration • Provide cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias • Manage central lines, PICC lines, and perform IV starts • Provide care for feeding tubes and external CPAP/BIPAP devices • Implement heparin protocols and manage non-invasive airway interventions • Provide pre/post cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery care • Administer procedural sedation and manage post cardiac angiogram patients • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Work with adult and geriatric patient populations • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams • Maintain isolation precautions and oxygen therapy management • Work two weekends per pay period as required • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of comparable specialty experience • Maintain valid California RN license • Complete 24-hour orientation program • Self-report time spent on training modules to agency • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
