Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Surgical Tech - Certified Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Apple Valley, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform certified surgical technologist duties in operating room settings
• Maintain current BLS certification throughout assignment
• Work with Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system
• Scrub for required surgical cases including General, Ortho, Ortho/Spine, Ortho/Total Joints, Urology, Endo/Laparoscopic, Vascular, Gyn procedures
• Assist with abdominal hysterectomy, C-sections, Dilation & Curettage, Laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures, and Vaginal Hysterectomy
• Float between main OR and outpatient surgery center with 3 OR suites
• Respond to on-call requirements within 30-minute response time
• Work weekend shifts and be available for holiday coverage
• Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Maintain aseptic technique and follow universal protocol procedures
• Handle and care for surgical scopes and fiber optic equipment
• Perform proper specimen handling and labeling
• Follow fire safety, laser safety, and radiation safety protocols
• Adhere to isolation precautions and sharps safety guidelines
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years
• Float between sister facilities within the state as required
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
