Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Santa Monica, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide labor and delivery nursing care in antepartum, intrapartum, and triage settings
• Monitor fetal heart rate and assess high-risk pregnancies
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and provide direct patient care during labor
• Circulate for cesarean sections in OR suite environment
• Provide post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) services for patients receiving regional anesthesia
• Support intraoperative procedures including emergency D&C and emergent hysterectomy
• Perform newborn care role during deliveries
• Float to postpartum unit and provide couplet care (maternal and newborn) when needed
• Conduct sterile vaginal examinations as required
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Maintain current ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BLS, FHM, and NRP certifications
• Work every other weekend as scheduled
• Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Float between facilities within the state as assigned
• Maintain valid CA state nursing license
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and privacy standards
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
