Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Santa Monica, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in Labor & Delivery unit including antepartum, labor, and high-risk pregnancy monitoring • Perform fetal heart monitoring and assess maternal and fetal well-being • Assist with vaginal deliveries and provide direct patient care during labor • Circulate for cesarean sections and assist in OR suite during C-sections • Scrub for C-sections when required • Perform sterile vaginal examinations • Provide newborn care and resuscitation at delivery • Work through PACU providing care for patients receiving general or regional anesthesia • Provide intraoperative care for emergency procedures including D&C and emergent hysterectomy • Float to postpartum unit when needed and provide couplet care for mother and newborn • Maintain patient ratios and provide care for 200-300 births per month • Work in triage area assessing and prioritizing patient care needs • Maintain current certifications including ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BLS, FHM, and NRP • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Work every other weekend and commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Maintain valid state licensure and comply with background check requirements • Float between facilities within the state as required • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and privacy standards • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
