Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - NICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Fullerton, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for neonatal patients in a Level 3 NICU setting
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:3 as required
• Attend high risk deliveries and urgent calls as part of delivery team
• Administer medications including antibiotics/antivirals, anti-seizure medications, and IV vasopressors
• Manage respiratory equipment including ventilators, high frequency ventilation, bubble CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula
• Perform neonatal procedures such as APGAR scoring, blood glucose monitoring, and phlebotomy
• Provide feeding support including bottle, breast, and gavage feedings
• Manage arterial lines, chest tubes, and umbilical artery/vein catheters
• Administer blood and blood products as needed
• Provide phototherapy and manage hyperbilirubinemia treatment
• Support developmental care and provide patient/family teaching
• Float to mother baby unit as required
• Complete charting and documentation using Meditech system
• Work weekends as needed which may exceed every other weekend
• Maintain BLS and NRP certifications (NRP Advanced preferred)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignments
• Comply with facility dress code requirements
• Maintain valid California state nursing license
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
