Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading $facility_type$ in Orange, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for Labor and Delivery patients including high-risk pregnancies
• Circulate for Cesarean sections and assist with surgical procedures
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and high-risk deliveries
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using external fetal monitoring
• Administer antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Care for patients with labor complications, preterm labor, hypertension, pre-eclampsia, and other pregnancy-related conditions
• Perform cervical cerclage procedures and D&C procedures
• Provide care for neonates and adults in Labor and Delivery setting
• Maintain patient ratios of 1-2 patients during all shifts
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Float between facilities within the state as required
• Work 3x12 night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Complete 72 hours of orientation training
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
• Commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required modules pre-start and annually (average 16 hours, self-reported)
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Maintain valid California RN license
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
