Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - NICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Fullerton, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for neonates and infants in NICU setting with 1:3 patient ratios • Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications (NRP Advanced preferred) • Utilize Meditech charting system for patient documentation • Float to mother baby unit as needed • Attend high risk deliveries and respond to urgent calls as part of delivery team • Administer blood and blood products, medications, and perform neonatal dosage calculations • Manage various respiratory modalities including ventilators, CPAP, high frequency ventilation, and oscillators • Perform arterial line management and umbilical catheter care (UAC/UVC) • Provide developmental care and family teaching/support • Monitor and manage chest tubes, IV vasopressors, and therapeutic hypothermia • Conduct phlebotomy, IV starts and maintenance • Manage feeding protocols including bottle, breast, and gavage feedings • Perform endotracheal tube suctioning and tracheostomy management • Provide care for neonates with various diagnoses from 23 weeks to term infants • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, and neonatologists • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Maintain valid state licensure and provide supervisory references • Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays • Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and dress code requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
