Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Days at a leading Hospital in West Des Moines, IA. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform surgical technician duties during four 10-hour shifts per week
• Participate in one 5-7pm call shift per week
• Maintain valid state licensure and professional certifications
• Complete required drug screening and physical health assessments
• Obtain and maintain required vaccinations including COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, PPD/IGRA, and Varicella
• Pass color vision testing and fit testing requirements
• Complete specialty-specific competency testing for surgical technology
• Fulfill skills checklist requirements and demonstrate clinical competencies
• Complete Joint Commission testing and compliance requirements
• Undergo criminal background check and maintain clean background status
• Complete education verification and professional reference checks
• Adhere to code of conduct and confidentiality agreements
• Complete required training modules including child and adult dependent abuse training
• Maintain system access credentials and follow security protocols
• Work scheduled shifts from 06:45 AM to 05:15 PM
• Complete all onboarding documentation and compliance requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in IA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
