Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform surgical technician duties in various surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, neurosurgery, ENT, urology, reconstructive, vascular, and cardiothoracic procedures
• Maintain current BLS certification and any required specialty certifications
• Operate and assist with advanced surgical equipment including Da Vinci Xi robotic system, Mako surgical system, arthroscopic equipment, and microscopes
• Demonstrate proficiency in aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance
• Assist with laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures across multiple specialties
• Handle and care for surgical instruments, scopes, and fiber optic equipment
• Perform instrument processing, sterilization, and disinfection procedures
• Complete assembly and wrapping of surgical instruments and supplies
• Maintain knowledge of decontamination processes and sterilization indicators
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as assigned
• Work with varied patient age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Work one Saturday day shift and participate in call rotation
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years
• Maintain valid state licensure and comply with background check requirements
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
