Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Lab Specialist - Clinical Lab Scientist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform laboratory testing and analysis as a Clinical Lab Scientist
• Work 7 on 7 off schedule, Wednesday through Tuesday, 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Provide holiday coverage during contracted scheduled shifts
• Utilize Meditech laboratory information system for documentation and reporting
• Maintain current ASCP certification
• Complete required specialty-specific competency testing
• Perform color vision testing as required for laboratory work
• Maintain current immunization requirements including COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, PPD/IGRA, Varicella, and Tdap
• Complete annual Joint Commission testing and compliance requirements
• Adhere to facility code of conduct and patient confidentiality agreements
• Complete skills checklist and maintain professional competencies
• Comply with system access protocols and security requirements
• Participate in audit services and integrity monitoring processes
• Complete required health screenings and physical examinations
• Maintain valid state licensure and complete verification processes
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in MI
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
