Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Fullerton, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for labor and delivery patients with 1:2 patient ratios • Maintain required certifications including ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BLS, and NRP • Perform sterile vaginal exams independently without supervision • Conduct triage of obstetrical patients • Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections • Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and anticoagulants • Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using external and internal fetal monitoring • Provide antepartum and postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum assessments • Perform newborn assessments and provide infant care • Support breastfeeding and lactation for new mothers • Manage high-risk pregnancies including preeclampsia and multiple births • Float to mother baby unit as required • Work every other weekend and commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays • Complete pre-start and annual training modules • Utilize Meditech charting system for documentation • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years • Maintain valid California RN license • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physicians, respiratory services, and social services
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
