Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing services in the Operating Room setting
• Maintain current BLS certification throughout assignment
• Demonstrate proficiency in general OR procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, and hernia repairs
• Assist with gynecological procedures such as abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, anterior/posterior repair, bilateral tubal ligation, and dilation & curettage
• Support orthopedic procedures including arthroscopy, closed and open reduction of fractures, and total joint replacement
• Assist with urological procedures including cystoscopy, prostatectomy, and transurethral resection of the prostate
• Maintain expertise in fire safety, laser safety, and radiation safety protocols
• Operate cell saver equipment and manage administration of blood products
• Ensure proper infection control measures and specimen handling/labeling procedures
• Follow Universal Protocol and Time out procedures for patient safety
• Provide appropriate wound management care
• Utilize Epic charting system for accurate documentation
• Float between facilities within the state as assigned
• Work 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
• Maintain valid state nursing licensure
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Complete compliance documentation and maintain required certifications
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures for patient care delivery
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
