Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PCU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients requiring cardiac telemetry monitoring with a 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio • Monitor and care for patients with heart failure, post-procedural cardiac conditions, acute coronary syndrome, and other cardiac-related diagnoses • Perform telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias • Manage patients with arterial and venous sheaths, pacemakers, and cardioverter/defibrillators • Administer and titrate vasoactive intravenous medications per facility policy • Provide care for patients on insulin drips (excluding DKA protocol) • Monitor patients requiring high flow nasal cannula, continuous BiPAP, CPAP, and Opti-flow • Perform IV starts and manage peripheral line care • Provide pre and post cardiac catheterization care and post cardiac/vascular surgical care • Conduct frequent vital signs and respiratory monitoring • Administer continuous or frequent nebulizer treatments • Perform non-invasive airway management • Assist with elective or emergent cardioversions with cardiologist and anesthesia present • Provide wound care including wound vac management • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Float to cardiac telemetry unit and other units with patient ratios up to 1:6 in medical-surgical assignments • Respond to code blue emergencies within the unit and hospital • Provide patient and family education and emotional support • Complete 36 hours of unit orientation • Pass EKG testing prior to start • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually • Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications • Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days and 60 hours per week
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
