Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Mason City, IA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in Medical Surgical Telemetry unit
• Work every third weekend and every other holiday
• Monitor patients using telemetry equipment and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Complete comprehensive patient assessments and documentation
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 07:00 PM to 07:30 AM
• Maintain current nursing licensure and certifications
• Complete required health screenings including PPD/IGRA testing
• Obtain and maintain required vaccinations (COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap)
• Complete mandatory training programs including child and adult dependent abuse training
• Pass specialty-specific competency testing
• Complete skills checklist validation
• Undergo criminal background check and drug screening
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with system security requirements
• Complete required compliance documentation and forms
• Participate in ongoing education and training requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in IA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
