Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Tech - Ultrasound Tech to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform diagnostic medical sonography as a registered diagnostic medical sonographer
• Conduct OB/GYN ultrasound examinations including level 1 OB scans and GYN scans
• Perform high risk OB and outpatient GE ultrasound procedures
• Execute general ultrasound skills including abdominal aorta, appendix, breast, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, pediatric abdomen/pelvis, and spleen examinations
• Conduct OB/GYN ultrasounds for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester patients
• Perform amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical survey, and placenta previa assessments
• Execute neonatal ultrasound procedures including bone lengths, cerebellum, ventricles, head, and heart examinations
• Perform renal/pelvis ultrasounds including bladder, hernia, ovaries, prostate, renal/bladder, uterus, and vaginal examinations
• Conduct small parts ultrasound procedures including breast cyst aspiration, breast ultrasound, superficial masses, testicles/scrotum, and thyroid examinations
• Utilize GE ultrasound equipment for all examinations
• Document patient information and examination results using Epic charting system
• Float between units within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed based on census and skill requirements
• Work Monday through Friday 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM with 45-minute meal break
• Maintain current ARDMS and ARDMS OB/GYN certifications
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (4-5 hours for non-acute roles)
• Work during catastrophic events, mass casualty situations, or disasters as part of Storm Team/Hurricane Team
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Complete compliance testing within 48 hours of lab assignment
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Provide patient care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
