Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Napa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care with 1:2 patient ratios • Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications • Utilize Epic charting system for all documentation • Perform sterile vaginal exams and triage obstetrical patients • Monitor fetal heart rates using external and internal fetal monitoring equipment • Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and pain management protocols • Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and high-risk deliveries • Provide neonatal resuscitation and newborn assessment • Support breastfeeding and provide discharge teaching to parents • Float to postpartum unit and sister facilities as needed • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment in comparable specialty • Maintain valid California nursing license • Work weekend shifts to meet department needs • Participate in on-call coverage based on census requirements • Perform fundus, lochia, and perineum care for postpartum patients • Administer vaccines and manage isolation precautions • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including respiratory, pharmacy, and social services • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
