Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Surgical Tech - Certified Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Days at a leading Hospital in Skokie, IL. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide surgical technician services in orthopedic and spine operating room procedures
• Maintain current BLS certification throughout assignment
• Demonstrate high proficiency in orthopedics and spine surgical procedures
• Scrub cases for hand, foot/ankle, sports medicine, ortho trauma, spine, and total joint procedures
• Operate orthopedic robotics systems including Mako, Rosa, and Cori
• Assist with spine deformity cases, spine navigation, and minimally invasive spine procedures
• Support orthopedic revision cases and complex surgical procedures
• Participate in weekday call and possible weekend call assignments
• Float occasionally between sister facilities to support ortho-trauma surgeons
• Assist with laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, and arthroscopy procedures
• Support total knee and hip replacement surgeries
• Assist with closed/open reduction of fractures
• Provide care for patients across all age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Complete required orientation and training programs
• Maintain valid state licensure and certifications
• Provide minimum 2 years of surgical technician experience
• Complete EKG testing within first day of assignment with 84% or higher passing score
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures for surgical care delivery
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in IL
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
