Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - House Supervisor to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as House Supervisor with ED or ICU experience required • Float between units based on patient care needs and skill sets • Float to affiliate hospitals and sister facilities as required • Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications • Obtain PALS certification (highly desired) • Respond to a variety of clinical needs and situations in a 25-bed critical access hospital • Supervise nursing care delivered on all units organizationally • Function as clinical expert resource for staff • Manage patient care for various age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics • Handle patient diagnoses including CHF, NSTEMI, pneumonia, total joint replacements, sepsis, overdose, general surgical patients, oncology, and geriatric services • Mix antibiotics and basic pressors when premixed options are not available • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Manage code situations and crisis intervention/de-escalation techniques • Handle facility/bed diversion and rapid response team coordination • Manage restraints (physical/chemical) and assaultive behavior • Process death of patient documentation and procedures • Handle discharge AMA situations • Monitor and report sentinel events • Manage voluntary/involuntary commitment processes • Coordinate new admissions, post-surgery, and post-procedure care • Arrange transfers to higher level care facilities • Manage narcotic diversion protocols • Handle centralized and decentralized staffing • Complete incident reporting and infection control procedures • Maintain isolation procedures and start/maintain IVs • Follow organizational escalation processes • Work variable schedules including days, nights, and weekends • Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Use facility-provided communication devices when required
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
